I have finally been able to achieve my dream, having been given the opportunity to study Medicine in 2000 at the University of Western Australia.
My son and I moved from the Kimberley to commence my studies.
The medical course has been both personally and professionally challenging which I have really enjoyed. I had the opportunity to return home to the Kimberley for my fifth year at the University of Western Australia Rural Clinical School. By the time you read this I will have completed my studies in 2006 and I will have begun my medical career at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.
My special interest is in Aboriginal Health and I intend to return to rural/remote Australia to practise medicine in the future. If you have the opportunity to study it I recommend Medicine to anyone keen to make a difference in people's lives.
