Portrait of Brad Saracik

Bachelor of Science (Information Technology)/Bachelor of Engineering with First Class Honours in Mechanical Engineering, 1997

In five fantastic years enjoying the UWA lifestyle between 1993 and 1997, I completed a BSc/BEng double degree course, majoring in Information Technology (computing) and Mechanical Engineering.

In Australia I gained experience in the mining industry and with robotics. My honours thesis involved humanitarian demining, electronics and signal processing. I found work based in Munich's automotive industry, originally in simulation and modelling (with some software design on the side) and more recently developing and testing BMW's new Active Steering system. At every stage I have been attracted to solving challenges and original problems.

It's been possible to combine career with a passion for travel. As a student I gained experience in north western Australia (Koolan Island, Dampier, Paraburdoo) and in 1996 the UWA Gledden tour took me to engineering and touristy sites in western USA. Since then work has taken me to Germany, Japan, France and Sweden.
