Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Engineering with First Class Honours in Civil Engineering, 1997
I started my engineering career with BSD Consultants, a WA based multi-disciplinary consultancy operating in areas as diverse as traffic engineering, town planning, building design and project management. My projects ranged from engineering design and technical studies to economic modelling and analysis.
In 1998, my life goals and career choices lead me to join Lend Lease, one of the world's leading companies in the area of property and investment services. In Canberra, I was involved in the redevelopment of the National Film and Sound Archives for the Department of Communication and Arts. This provided a good basis from which to develop my project and construction management skills. My next high profile project was the Fox Studios in Sydney, which was particularly challenging in terms of tight budgetary constraints and deadlines around the period of the Sydney Olympics.
I returned to Perth in 2000 with Lend Lease and worked as a project manager on several projects within WA. This included management consulting and project management services for Telstra corporate properties, the Neerabup Ground Water Treatment Plant and the fitout for Freehills solicitors. I later became the state manager for Bovis Lend Lease in WA. This new role brings about its own set of challenges and new experiences.
